Although music festivals Coachella and Stagecoach have been postponed, the show will go on with the 8th annual Mo Pop Festival. Indie and pop lovers can get their festival fix at Detroit鈥檚 Historic Fort Wayne Park during the weekend summer soiree, which will be held on July 25 and 26.听
R&B-pop singer Khalid, known for hits like 鈥淏etter鈥 and 鈥淓astside,鈥 and English pop-rock band The 1975, which will release its new album,听Notes on a Conditional Form, on April 24, are headlining the 2020 festival. Other acts include Kaytranada, Beach Bunny, Doja Cat, Purity Ring, Orville Peck, and Phoebe Bridgers.听
Since 2015, Mo Pop Festival has been held at Detroit鈥檚 West Riverfront Park. But festival director, Jason Rogalewski, says he couldn鈥檛 be happier with the new grounds at Historic Fort Wayne, which is located at 6325 W. Jefferson Ave. 鈥淚t鈥檚 another one of those hidden gems in the city that鈥檚 uniquely Detroit and we can鈥檛 wait to share it with our fans in July,鈥 he says.听
Along with the new location comes a new VIP offering. This year, the festival is introducing The Yacht Club, a VIP experience that comes with a weekend pass, priority entry, re-entry to the festival, main stage preferred viewing, and amenities such as private air-conditioned restrooms and space with shade, lounge seating, on-site parking, and a dedicated merch pop-up stand. Returning features include fan-favorite activations such as the Food Truck Alley, the Craft Bazaar, and the Mo Pop Arcade, which is put on in collaboration with Offworld Arcade.听
Single-day tickets start at $80 for general admission and $200 for Yacht Club VIP passes. Tickets are available starting March 16 at 10 a.m. and can be purchased at 听or select retailers and box offices across metro Detroit.
