DSO Chamber Ensembles

One of lockdown鈥檚 greatest woes is the lack of live music. For the time being, there鈥檚 no true cure for this affliction, but virtual concerts can serve as a salve for the wound. This evening, a Detroit Symphony Orchestra brass quartet will be accompanied by a percussion duo for the performance of various classical numbers. Oct. 16. $12.

Marvel: Universe of Super Heroes

With fall premiere dates for movies like Black Widow and Venom: Let There be Carnage pushed back to next year, it鈥檒l be months before Marvel fans can enjoy some of this year鈥檚 most highly anticipated superhero flicks. But a local museum is providing alternate ways to revel in the fandom this very weekend. The Henry Ford鈥檚 latest exhibit, Marvel: Universe of Super Heroes, features more than 300 authentic costumes, movie props, and rare comic books. Juneteenth Film Festival

This year鈥檚 Juneteenth festivities 颅鈥 including Emagine鈥檚 Juneteenth Film Festival 鈥 may have been dampened by the COVID-19 pandemic, but there鈥檚 still plenty to celebrate. Enjoy a belated Freedom Day and learn about Black history with essential films like The Color Purple, American History X, and I am Not Your Negro.
