The latest season of Hard Knocks, an Emmy-winning reality series from HBO Sports and NFL Films, will follow the Detroit Lions. Premiering on HBO at 10 p.m. on Aug. 9, the five-episode season will provide an “unfiltered, all-access look” at what it takes to make it in the league.
“We are excited about the opportunity to showcase the city of Detroit and the amazing culture we are building at the Lions,” says Rod Wood, Detroit Lions team president and CEO, in a press release. “HBO Sports and NFL Films are the best of the best and we know they will be excellent partners in sharing our story with football fans around the world.”
The new season — titled Hard Knocks: Training Camp with the Detroit Lions — will begin filming in the next few months at the team’s training camp in Allen Park. The show will follow Lions head coach Dan Campbell as he leads the team through camp and the preseason and give viewers a look at the daily lives of the players and coaches.
