Warby Parker 鈥 an eyeglass company that aims to offer stylish frames at an affordable cost through a home try-on program and brick-and-mortar shops 鈥 is opening a new store at Twelve Oaks Mall in Novi. The location, which is the company鈥檚 fourth in Michigan, will open its doors on Jan. 29.
The store will be located on the upper level of the mall near the Lululemon shop. It will carry the company鈥檚 full collection of sunglasses and optical glasses as well as Warby Parker鈥檚 brand of daily contact lenses and third-party contact lenses. The store will also offer eye exams.
Warby Parker has previously worked with Detroit creatives David Rubello and Jessee Kassel on art for its stores, and it features many of its artistic partnerships in a philanthropic book called The Alphabet of Art at Warby Parker. Continuing its goal of collaborating with artists, the company has commissioned illustrator Rose Wong, a metro Detroit native who now lives and works in New York City, to create a custom mural for the Novi shop.
To celebrate its new Novi location, Warby Parker will offer free, limited-edition prints of Wong鈥檚 work on Jan. 29. While supplies last, customers will also get cookies from M Street Baking Co., a Howell-based bakery that operates a milkshake shop in Twelve Oaks Mall, throughout the weekend.
In 2016, Warby Parker opened its first Michigan store in downtown Detroit. Since then, the company has also opened shops in Ann Arbor and in Troy at the Somerset Collection. The Novi store will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
