Metro Detroit is home to so many different and delish dining and drink options, and they are seemingly always bringing something new to their table. Here鈥檚 what three local spots are up to this month.

Awards and Accolades:

The metro Detroit-made vodka received international recognition at the 2023 Vodka Masters competition in London, where it was awarded a Master medal in the super premium flight category. A judge enjoyed its 鈥渃lean, grapefruit aroma, great body and mouthfeel around the tongue, followed by delightful peppery heat balance with light bitter astringency.鈥

Coming to the Table:

Oak Park

The Detroit pizzeria will open its second location (takeout only) in Oak Park at 8140 W. Nine Mile Road later this year. The original Pie Sci is a popular college student hangout, located in Woodbridge just west of Wayne State University. Its fall menu features one-of-a-kind pies like the Detroit Brussels Harder, topped with Brussels sprouts, bacon, and feta drizzled in balsamic glaze.

Coming Soon:

Michigan鈥檚 first Liberian restaurant is slated to open next summer in New Center, Detroit. The Afro-fusion concept from chef-owner Ameneh Marhaba will feature African, Caribbean, and African American influences. The menu will include signature cocktails (right) and traditional Liberian dishes like groundnut stew, plantain chips, Liberian country dry rice, and meats cooked with cassava leaves and palm butter.
