Six New Retailers Are Coming to Detroit

The new businesses include a restaurant, bridal salon, fitness studio, and more.

Real estate developer announced on Thursday that six new retailers have either opened their doors or will soon open their doors in the Midtown and New Center areas.

Among these new businesses is the organic waxing and lash studio Sugaring NYC, which opened at Woodward West last month; MG Studio Salon, which also opened in August; and The Eagle Food and Beer Hall, which is set to open in Midtown today (Sept. 8, 2023).

Other additions include a bridal salon and fitness studio that are expected to open this fall, and a dessert shop that will open early next year.

鈥淲e are very excited to introduce this diverse range of businesses to the Detroit community,鈥 said Clarke Lewis, president of the Platform. 鈥淭he quality and variety of these businesses will not only serve our residents, but people from all over the city. We are adding to the vibrancy of the neighborhoods, while adding some needed services to this growing section of Detroit.鈥

Here鈥檚 a closer look at what each of these new retailers offer:

Sugaring NYC

This organic waxing and lash studio has 70 locations across the country and provides all-natural hair removal services along with other beauty services such as brows and lashes; .

MG Studio Salon

This hair salon had its ribbon cutting at the Fisher Building in August and works to 鈥減romote health hair and a confident self-image鈥 with a variety of services that cater to a diverse range of hair types and styles; .

The Eagle Food and Beer Hall

Thunderdome Restaurant Group, which h operates more than 40 restaurants across the U.S., has opened its first Michigan spot. Guests of this new eatery will enjoy award-winning fried chicken served alongside Southern sides along with curated cocktails and local beer; .

Luxe Redux Bridal

This bridal shop boasts a 鈥渄iverse and size-inclusive selection of luxury bridal gowns鈥 at discount prices. This shop uses a sustainable model that allows their brides to shop samples in-store or online for 20-90% off retail prices; .

Pure Barre Fitness

This fitness studio is reopening in a new location in Midtown and offers low-impact, high-intensity, full-body group fitness classes, while also creating a sense of community amongst its members. Pure Barre blends Pilates, yoga, and ballet to help improve strength, agility, and flexibility; .
