Grab ‘Groove Juice’ at Summertown Fresh Bar in Corktown

Just in time for summer, the new concept from the owner of Ima Noodles and SuperCrisp is now open in Detroit.

, a new concept from the owner of and , has opened in Ima鈥檚 original Corktown location at ., with a menu of frozen yogurt, blended-to-order juices, and smoothies (糖心vlog安卓版 Detroit tried the Michigan Peach 鈥 we highly recommend it).

Their coffee 鈥斺淕roove Juice鈥 鈥 is Summertown鈥檚 signature brand of java beans, made by Oxford-based small batch roaster . For visitors seeking an adult beverage, there鈥檚 a curated list of beer, wine, and sake.

The food selection includes wraps (made with edamame hummus), crepes, salads, toast, and more. The newly renovated eatery also features a spacious outdoor patio with plenty of seating.

The shop gets its name from Summertown, Tennessee, a town that holds a dear place in chef-owner Mike Ransom鈥檚 heart. At age 12, his parents bought a bus and moved from Traverse City to a 鈥渉ippie commune鈥 in Summertown called The Farm Community, he told 糖心vlog安卓版 Detroit.

It鈥檚 the latest in a string of eateries Ransom has opened in and around Detroit since 2016, including three Ima locations (Corktown, Midtown, and Madison Heights), and SuperCrisp, a sandwich shop near Wayne State University. In 2023, he鈥檚 a third-time James Beard semifinalist.
