Behind Meadow Brook Mansion is an equally grand garden that has been reimagined to host movie-goers. Next month, the nearly 100-year-old estate will show two psychological thrillers by Alfred Hitchcock 鈥 Strangers on a Train听补苍诲听Shadow of a Doubt 鈥 on the garden鈥檚 outdoor screen.听听

Strangers on a Train听will be shown from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Oct. 1. In the film, a tennis player and suave psychopath cross paths during a train ride, resulting in dangerous discussions and deals that will keep viewers on the edge of their seats.听
听
The following week, on Oct. 8, the grand garden will show听Shadow of a Doubt听from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. A sweet niece takes in her helpless uncle, only to start questioning his good nature. His routine begins to weave into the same patterns as the reports of a questionable character that were published in the local newspaper. These dynamic characters will leave the audience teetering between who should be the protagonist and the antagonist.听

Admission is $20 per person or $18 for members 鈥 reservations are required to account for proper social distancing. Tickets include a personal-sized popcorn bag and candy, and drinks are available at a cash bar. Guests can purchase tickets at听.

Meadow Brook Mansion staff note that guests should wear a face mask if they should go inside and remain socially distanced by at least 6 feet. Visitors are also asked to stay home if they feel sick.听

Based in Rochester, the Meadow Brook Mansion offers a stately scene that could add to the event. Some visitors of the mansion 鈥 built in 1929 by Matilda Dodge Wilson and her second husband, Alfred G.
